“No Nê” meaning full, with vintage photography, I utilize portraiture of traditional Vietnamese objects such as Herbs, Boiled Chicken, ambarella, Betel leaves, and a traditional pastry called “bánh da lợn”. Each object presents its own flavor like sweet, sour, spicy, salty, and bitter.
They are personified to symbolize the range of one’s emotions or often use to describe stages of life like moments of sweetness, or bitterness that we taste when we’re low in life and spiciness through our life often use in Vietnamese belief.
